La Paz, 14 de octubre (RCM).- El presidente Luis Arce, en un acto en Casa Grande del Pueblo, nombró a Augusto Russo como nuevo comandante general de la Policía Boliviana este lunes, reemplazando a Álvaro Álvarez, quien ocupó el cargo desde el 23 de febrero de 2023. Augusto Russo, excomandante de la Policía de Potosí y hasta ahora subcomandante, asumirá su nuevo rol en un momento clave para la institución.
Además, Arce presentó al nuevo Alto Mando Policial, que incluye a Guillermo Pérez como subcomandante nacional, Leonel Giménez Velasco como inspector general, José Cortez como presidente del Tribunal Disciplinario, Jhonny Chávez como director nacional de Personal, Ismael Villca como director nacional de Inteligencia y José Illanes como director nacional de Instrucción.
También se designaron nuevos comandantes departamentales: Gunter Mendoza para La Paz, Gonzalo Torrico para Oruro, José Luis Arancibia para Potosí, Mirko Saravia para Chuquisaca, Edson Claure para Cochabamba, Ángel Morales para Tarija, Rolando Rojas para Santa Cruz, Leonel Valenzuela para Beni y Oscar Ruiz para Pando.
Finalmente, Saul Aparicio fue nombrado director general de la FELCV, Fredy Pereira como director de la FELCN, y Walter Sosa como director de la FELCC.
