La Paz, 14 de Mayo (RCM).- Una mujer de 33 años perdió la vida en la Unidad de Terapia Intensiva (UTI) debido a que la comunidad donde vivía no la dejara buscar atención médica. Pese a que presentaba síntomas graves como dolores abdominales, convulsiones y hemorragias, la paciente no recibió la ayuda necesaria, ella junto con su bebé fallecieron.
El hospital Materno Germán Urquidi fue escenario del deceso de la mujer embarazada. El director del establecimiento, Antonio Pardo, explicó que los pastores de la comunidad influyeron en la decisión para que la paciente no busque atención médica especializada, optando en “sanarla” con oraciones.
Tras los graves síntomas que presentaba la mujer solo fue llevada al hospital cuando su estado ya era crítico, La demora resulto en una infección no tratada que provocó su fallecimiento y el de su bebé.
Como resultado la muerte de la mujer, siete niños quedaron huérfanos. Haciendo en llamado a la sociedad para que busque de ayuda profesional ante emergencias médicas.
