La Paz, 14 de Mayo (RCM).- La Asociación Civil – Legal Justicia Ambiental puso una denuncia ante la Fiscalía de Cochabamba por la muerte de un jaguar ‘Panthera onca’, que fue atropellado el pasado 5 y 6 a mayo, en el kilómetro 124, cerca de la empresa china Sinohydro y posteriormente descuartizado y desollado presumiblemente entre el 6 y el 8 de mayo, según informó La Región.
El informe de la Policía Forestal y Preservación del Medio Ambiente (Pofoma) se puede observar que el ciudadano pakistaní, identificado con las iniciales N.K. “tenía conocimiento” sobre la cabeza del animal “sin sus colmillos” y en un contenedor se encontró la “piel del animal extendida en tablas de madera, cubierta con sal u a unos diez metros aproximadamente”. Así mismo “tres extremidades en estado de putrefacción cubiertas con tierra”.
Las tres personas involucradas, dos ciudadanos bolivianos y uno extranjeros, son trabajadores de la empresa Sinphydro Corporation Limited, la que construye la doble vía Cochabamba-Santa Cruz.
El documento presentado por Pofoma hace referencia de dependientes de la firma asiática, el asesor legal, el jefe de recursos humanos y un especialista ambiental, intervinieron para que se entregue las piezas a autoridades policiales. Gracias a ello se pudo recuperar la piel, la cabeza, tres extremidades y cuatro colmillos.
Inicialmente, las autoridades ambientales departamentales como de la Policía habían dado por cerrado el caso tras la entrega de los restos. Sin embargo, “ante la indignación de la ciudadanía” aseguraron que seguirán con las investigaciones.
