El Centro para Prevención y el Control de Enfermedades de Beijing, China, informó que ha comenzado a administrar vacunas contra las subvariantes XBB de la variante Ómicron de Covid-19 a grupos como: personas de 60 o más años, o aquellas entre 18 y 59 años pero con enfermedades de base, deficiencias inmunológicas o alto riesgo de infección.
Esta vacuna es elegible para las personas que han sido infectadas con Covid-19 o han recibido al menos dos dosis de vacunas contra el Coronavirus.
Según la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) las XBB de Ómicron se han convertido en una de las variantes dominantes en todo el mundo. Por lo tanto, se recomiendan vacunas que contengan anticuerpos de dichas subvariantes para obtener el mejor efecto de protección.
