La Paz, 13 de noviembre (RC).- El Gobierno de Donald Trump reconoció este martes a la senadora opositora Jeanine Áñez como presidenta interina de Bolivia tras la renuncia del mandatario, Evo Morales y el vicepresidente, Álvaro García.
“Esperamos con interés trabajar con ella y otras autoridades civiles del país mientras organizan elecciones libres y justas lo antes posible de acuerdo con la constitución.”, escribió en su cuenta de Twitter el encargado de Latinoamérica en el Departamento de Estado, Michael Kozak.
Así también, Trump consideró que con la salida de Evo Morales se “preserva la democracia” en Bolivia puntualizando que este acontecimiento lanza una fuerte señal de los regímenes ilegítimos en Venezuela y Nicaragua, “Con la caída de Morales, el continente americano está un paso más cerca de ser plenamente democrático, próspero y libre”, agregó.
Por su parte, la presidenta, Jeanine Áñez, se ha comprometido a convocar elecciones lo más pronto posible, en pos de una Bolivia libre y democrática. «Dios les bendiga, felicidades Bolivia», ha exclamado entre gritos de «Bolivia, Bolivia» en el Parlamento.
