La Paz, 25 de diciembre (RCM).- Un silencio inusual se apoderó de las calles de Zababdeh, pueblo palestino que alberga a una de las mayores comunidades cristianas de Cisjordania ocupada, y que con la guerra en Gaza perdió las ganas de celebrar la Navidad.
En Navidad, los cristianos palestinos acudían en masa a Zababdeh desde las ciudades de los alrededores para admirar las luces y el mercado festivo de este pueblo de unos 5.000 habitantes. Pero con los estragos provocados por la guerra en Gaza y el aumento de la violencia en Cisjordania, la comunidad cristiana no está de ánimo para celebrar la Navidad este lunes.
Este año los fieles rezan por la paz y lloran a los muertos, y están preocupados también por la violencia que cada vez golpea más cerca. A primera hora del día de Navidad, los periodistas de la AFP escucharon disparos y sirenas en Yenín, una ciudad donde el ejército israelí realiza incursiones casi a diario.
