La Paz, 10 de noviembre (RCM).- MrBeast ha construido 100 pozos de agua potable en África y el video donde documenta la hazaña se ha viralizado en redes sociales, lo que además ha generado un debate en redes sociales y críticas tanto al youtuber como a los gobiernos de Kenia y organizaciones como la ONU.
El video que se publicó en su canal de YouTube el pasado 4 de noviembre ya supera las 76 millones de visualizaciones en YouTube. Allí muestra a Jimmy Donaldson viajando por ciudades como Kenia, Nairiri, Zimbabue, Toroplongon, Uganda, Somalia y Camerún con su equipo para lograr construir los 100 pozos de agua potable.
El youtuber documentó cómo en algunas de las comunidades de los lugares antes mencionados, niños viven en condiciones insalubres al tener que beber agua de ríos o pozos contaminados, por lo que la mortalidad es alta. Además de que algunos de ellos tienen que hacer un largo recorrido para llegar hasta la fuente de abastecimiento.
Además de los pozos de agua potable, en algunas comunidades MrBeast entregó mobiliario escolar como: mesas, proyectores, pizarrones y computadoras e incluso bicicletas y balones de futbol para que los niños se entretengan.
¿En qué consiste el proyecto de pozos de agua en África de MrBeast?
En la página web MrBeast Philantrophy, el youtuber indicó que su proyecto ha logrado más de 14 mil 703 donaciones, que han involucrado 398 mil 451 dólares donados.
Allí detalla que los 100 pozos de agua construidos ayudarán a 300 a 500 mil personas de Camerún, Kenia, Somalia, Uganda y Zimbabue, aunque alrededor de dos millones de personas de todo el mundo no tienen agua.
Allí deja la opción a las corporaciones y civiles que quieran sumarse al proyecto.
