La Paz, 28 de julio (RCM).- El Viceministerio de Vigilancia Epidemiológica considera que el nuevo brote de casos de coqueluche en Santa Cruz se debe a dificultades en la contención de casos presuntamente ocasionado paro el cívico del año pasado en dicho departamento, mediante el cual exigían la realización del Censo de Población y Vivienda
“En Santa Cruz hemos tenido una dificultad seria, (el brote) ha coincidido con un paro de 36 días; en ese momento del brote, no podíamos hacer un desplazamiento, el personal estaba en los establecimientos de salud, pero era muy complicado hacer el desplazamiento para la contención. Hemos tenido una dificultad al inicio y la enfermedad se diseminaba muy rápidamente”, explicó el titular del Viceministerio, Max Enríquez.
Asimismo, los datos de la institución indican que la mayoría de casos de coqueluche o tosferina se encuentran en Santa Cruz, pese a que dicha enfermedad se había erradicado hace nueve años. Desde el Ministerio de Salud detallan que, del total de 596 casos acumulados, 309 están en el municipio de Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
