La Paz, 27 de julio (RCM).- El teatro donde al emperador Nerón le gustaba exhibirse salió a la luz gracias a excavaciones que lograron probar por primera vez la ubicación del que fue un lujoso edificio de la época imperial, ubicado a pocos metros del Vaticano y del que sólo se tenía constancia en textos antiguos, anunciaron hoy los arqueólogos de la capital.
«Con esta excavación pudimos plantear una propuesta de identificación que se basa en una serie de pistas arqueológicas que son muy consistentes entre sí y que nos llevan a identificar este espacio como el antiguo Teatro de Nerón», explicó a EFE uno de los arqueólogos del ayuntamiento de Roma, Alessio de Cristofaro.
El hallazgo se produjo tras el inicio de las obras para la construcción del aparcamiento del nuevo hotel en el patio del Palacio de la Rovere, un edificio renacentista levantado en el siglo XV sobre construcciones medievales, y una parte del propio Teatro de Nerón que quedó sepultado durante más de mil años.
