Este lunes, el presidente de Rusia, Vladímir Putin, le concedió la ciudadanía rusa al exanalista de la CIA y la NSA, Edward Snowden, quien recibía asilo político en el país europeo desde el año 2013 tras ser buscado por la Justicia estadounidense.
Snowden admitió en 2013 que había filtrado información de los programas de vigilancia de Estados Unidos, acción que lo llevó a enfrentar cargos por espionaje en el país norteamericano y una condena de más de 30 años de prisión.
El exagente de inteligencia norteamericano llegó a solicitar asilo político a más de 21 países, entre ellos Bolivia. Tras asentarse por más de 7 años en Rusia, el 2020 Snowed junto con su esposa solicitaron la ciudadanía rusa.
La concesión de su pedido se hizo oficial mediante un decreto publicado por el portal del Gobierno de Rusia.
