La Paz, 15 de enero (RC).- Las autoridades de Indonesia han registrado 42 personas fallecidas y más de 820 heridos por un terremoto de magnitud 6.2 que fue reportado en la isla de Célebes, por lo que se tuvo que realizar la evacuación de más de 15.000 personas que se encontraban cerca de dicha región, según el portal La Vanguardia.
Del mismo modo, los medios locales indican que el fenómeno natural inició aproximadamente a las 2 de la madrugada y causó caídas de puentes, derrumbes de edificios y otros daños materiales de gran consideración. Además, dicho terremoto causó el derrumbe del hospital Mitra Manakarra, enterrando al personal médico, pacientes y familiares que se encontraban en dichas instalaciones.
Así mismo, se ha registrado que alrededor de 300 casas y edificios fueron destruidas por la magnitud del terremoto, por lo que las autoridades indonesias recomendaron a la población que se continúen manteniendo alejados de edificios. Dicho suceso también ocasionó apagones y ha cortado el acceso a diversas carreteras cercanas.
